Issue #1323 · onboarding evidence

The Free step is now an actual plan decision.

Tegy’s generic “You’re starting on Free” interstitial has been replaced by the three-card plan chooser visible in the captured Claude onboarding journey. Pricing and capabilities come from Tegy’s real billing-plan definitions, and each action now performs the corresponding product behavior.

What changed

Claude’s composition

A centered brand, one plan-choice heading, and three equal cards. No generic step counter, progress bar, Back action, or Skip action.

Truthful Tegy plans

Free, Tegy Pro, and Tegy Max display the same names, monthly prices, summaries, and feature lists used by Tegy billing.

Working decisions

Free advances to the final onboarding screen. Pro and Max persist onboarding completion and open checkout for the exact selected plan.

Updated Tegy onboarding plan chooser on desktop with Free, Tegy Pro, and Tegy Max cards
Updated desktop. Local production build in Chromium Profile 3 / tegy. The 1040 px plan grid, heading placement, card geometry, neutral actions, and plan typography were tuned against the reference frame.
Updated Tegy onboarding plan chooser stacked vertically on a narrow mobile viewport
Updated mobile. Cards stack at a measured 386 px viewport. Document width equals viewport width, so there is no horizontal overflow.

Interaction evidence

Local production-build recording, Chromium Profile 3 / tegy: accept the required account agreement → create account → review all three plans → select Free → arrive at the final onboarding step. Promotional email consent remains unchecked in this recording.
